To the Parents and Players
It has been both a challenging and rewarding year in 2008-09. Many very good players have passed through Colorado College over the years and 08-09 is no exception. All of us with Tiger hockey are pleased and excited to be able to covey this knowledge and expertise by way of the annual Colorado College hockey school, now in its 17th consecutive year at Honnen Ice Arena on the CC campus.
Our philosophy for this summer’s hockey camp will remain the same – provide a program that will accommodate the needs of each level of play. We feel we have more to offer because of our format (on and off the ice), depth of quality instructors, and the fun, non-threatening approach we take in teaching ice hockey.
Our weekly camp will be offered toSquirts (ages 9-10), PeeWees (ages 11-12), and Bantams (ages 13-14), with an emphasis on the basic fundamentals (skating, passing, stick handling and shooting) as well as team concepts which are essential to a player’s success as he/she progresses through their hockey career. We also teach the proper technique for checking to PeeWees and Bantams and offer an excellent weekend Goaltending Clinic (see separate application form).
The CC hockey staff will be available to work collectively and individually with all campers during the Colorado College Hockey School. Our coaches bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the school. We will implement many of the same drills and activities used by our team during this past season. Tiger players in town for the summer will help with instruction and demonstrations during our week long camp.
The Colorado College Hockey School will provide a positive training environment which is so crucial to the development of enhancing skills, self-confidence and high self-esteem. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn from the leaders of the CC Hockey School while at the same time engage and interact with Tiger players and coaches. Get a jump on your game for next fall and have some fun in the process! We look forward to working with each one of you.
